A general timeline for the exhibit development was established in October 2013. The goals for the exhibit were set and detailed by months and weeks.

 

October 2013             

                        Exhibit topic and interpretive themes established.

 

November 2013

Week 1-2:       Begin research. Utilize GGNRA’s website, archives, library, and photo collection to gather                                         information for wall panels.

Week 2-4:       Have interpretive themes outlined and begin research on which objects and archives                                                 will be used to communicate the exhibit’s theme.

 

December 2013

Week 1-2:       Establish design of exhibit. Details include number of panels and cases to be used.                                                     Objects and archives list to be in final stages. Begin writing wall panels and choosing                                                 photographs to accompany text.

Week 3-4:       Out of town for the holidays.

 

January 2014

Week 1-2:       Have first drafts of four panels (introduction, work, life, and war) complete.

Week 3-4:       Have final drafts of panels complete and start object labels research.

 

February 2014

Week 1:           Final panels printed. Have first draft of objects labels complete.

Week 2:           Begin setups for exhibit cases, creating and assembling mounts. Final drafts of exhibit                                              labels printed and mounted on foam core.

Week 3:           Measure and cut foam core, collect and pack objects for transport, and use Friday for                                                panel and exhibit case setup at the Old Mint building.
